GO Logic introduces: GO Lab

GO Logic is proud to announce the launch of GO Lab Inc., a cutting-edge R&D firm dedicated to developing advanced building products for the high-performance construction market. GO Lab’s mission is to identify critical gaps in the building products marketplace and respond with environmentally sustainable, market-ready high-performance products and building systems.

The founding of GO Lab formalizes GO Logic’s longstanding partnership with chemist and materials engineer Joshua Henry, Ph.D. A professor and researcher at Bates College and the University of Maine, Dr. Henry is a former International Fellow of the National Science Foundation. This interdisciplinary collaboration’s accomplishments to date include:

  • Patenting a Passive House-standard superinsulated slab foundation system now in use throughout the country
  • Bringing to market a groundbreaking panelized Passive House construction system that delivers R-50 thermal performance at the exterior walls
  • Prototyping wood fiber-based insulation materials with cost and performance comparable to the fossil fuel-based products that now dominate the market

GO Lab’s current work addresses the ongoing crisis in Maine’s forest-products industry, which has lost thousands of jobs and over $1 billion in annual economic activity since 2014. To help repurpose to resource base and industrial infrastructure of the hard-hit pulp and paper industry, we are developing and marketing wood-based insulation panels that will compete in price and performance with fossil fuel-based products. Leveraging Maine’s abundant natural resources and underutilized industrial assets, our new technology has the potential to reach scale rapidly, help revitalize economically devastated communities, and accelerate the historic shift to energy efficient, healthy, and sustainable buildings nationwide.
